Is it safe to dismantle part of a monolithic ceiling or wall? Will this compromise the strength of the entire building?
Any intervention in a reinforced concrete monolith requires engineering calculations. If the structure is load-bearing, before starting work, we must install a system of temporary unloading supports (telescopic jacks) or metal frames. They take on all the weight while we gradually and safely remove the desired section. We strictly adhere to building codes (DBN), so dismantling is completely safe for the rest of the structure.
How do you destroy strong reinforced concrete inside a residential apartment or office without dangerous vibrations?
In the premises, we completely abandon the use of heavy jackhammers or hydro-wedges, which create a destructive shock wave. Instead, we use impact-free diamond cutting (disk or wire). Special diamond-coated equipment smoothly cuts both the concrete and the thick internal reinforcement into small lifting blocks. This guarantees 100% protection of adjacent walls from the appearance of microcracks.
How is the cost of work calculated if the inside of the monolith is very dense with thick reinforcement?
We have a transparent and fixed dismantling of monolith price per m3, which is stipulated in the contract before the start of work. However, if the results of the preliminary scan reveal extremely dense reinforcement (for example, a double mesh of reinforcement with a diameter of more than 16–20 mm), this is taken into account in the estimate in advance. Dense metal increases the wear of diamond discs and the working time, but the price still remains unchanged after signing the contract.
