You write that the cutting is "dust-free," but where does the dirty water with the concrete (sludge) go? Won't we flood the neighbors below?
"Dust-free" means that water is fed to the diamond blade, which turns the dust into a liquid suspension (sludge). To prevent it from spreading and seeping through the floor slabs to the neighbors, we use industrial water-sucking vacuum cleaners with a power of 3 kW or more with special ring nozzles directly around the cutting area. The water is collected instantly in sealed tanks. Additionally, we glue the floor and wall joints with a protective waterproofing film.
I need to widen a gap in my apartment building. Will the noise from your equipment cause panic among my neighbors?
There is noise from diamond cutting, but it is fundamentally different from that from a hammer drill. The equipment produces a monotonous high-frequency hum (similar to a powerful grinder), which is almost not transmitted through the capital walls of neighboring entrances, since there is no shock vibration. In addition, we work strictly within the hours permitted by law (usually from 10:00 to 17:00), and the work itself is performed 3-4 times faster than hammering. We recommend simply warning neighbors that the noisy phase will last only a few hours, not weeks.
Is it necessary to order metal reinforcement for the opening right away, or can it be done later during the repair?
If the opening is made in a capital (load-bearing) wall, the installation of the metal structure (channels or angles) must be carried out immediately on the day of cuttingLeaving a bare reinforced concrete opening under load, even for a few days, is strictly prohibited by building codes (DBN), as this can lead to imperceptible subsidence of the slabs of the upper floors.
